This reminded me then of a similar and yet a bit different thing that happened in school many years ago. It was during our English class in high school. The teacher would call any one in the class to make a sentence based on our topic. So one of our funny girl classmates stood up and started to say, "The treeses ..." Hmmm... and she had a way of talking and body language that made us all laugh, flipping her hair as if she was some movie star without the star! We were all laughing silently as we were afraid our teacher will call us. Our teacher was already frowning at our classmate who was still oblivious that nobody understood what she was trying to say regarding the "treeses". At least she didn't say "tresses". And this was also our classmate who thought that carabao (buffalo) and cow are male and female, respectively, of the same species.
